Ardtornish Primary School parents told ex-worker charged with child sexual offence

Parents at a school in Adelaide’s northeast have been told a former worker has faced court over a child sexual charge.

A worker at a northeastern suburbs school has faced court charged with a child sexual offence.

A letter was sent to parents at Ardtornish Primary School last week after a former school services worker faced court.

The Education Department confirmed the worker was employed at the St Agnes school in 2024.

The former staff member has not worked at any South Australian schools since then, with the person banned from attending any schools or engaging in child-related work.

A former worker at Ardtornish Primary School has been charged with child sex offences.

Concerned parents have been told the alleged offence does not involve any Ardtornish students.

Court documents reveal the alleged offending happened between April 13 and August 20 last year.

An Education spokesperson said the school was offering support for families.

“The Department for Education has a policy around informing the school community at the appropriate time whenever allegations of sexual misconduct are made against any person who has worked in any capacity at a school,” they said.

“Parents have been provided with support if they have any concerns about the safety and welfare of their child.”

Ardtornish Primary School is a reception to Year Six school, which has more than 500 students.
