A teenage pitch invader, who received a bone-crunching hip and shoulder from Adelaide Oval security, has been arrested and charged after running onto the ground during the Port Adelaide v Richmond match.

The 18-year-old man from St Marys sprinted onto the turf during the halftime break, initially eluding security before he was brought to a screeching halt by a well-timed bump from one guard.

He was quickly surrounded by a team of four and escorted off the ground to jeers from the Power’s home crowd. Halftime Auskick matches continued on uninterrupted.

The teen was later charged with entering a recreation ground without authorisation under the Recreation Grounds Regulations.

He was issued with a barring order and bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

He is also facing a minimum three-year ban from Adelaide Oval, a stadium spokeswoman said.

Adelaide Oval pitch invaders can also face a SAPOL fine of up to $5000.

Last March, pitch invader Julian Saginario was banned from Adelaide Oval for life after running onto the pitch during the Crows v Geelong match.

Mr Saginario, 22, of Blakeview, also pleaded guilty to one count of entering or being on an oval or field on the day of a scheduled event.

He argued his actions were the result of drinking and “being egged on by mates”, and was fined but spared a conviction in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in June.

Mr Saginario was fined $1080 and ordered to pay court fees and levies totalling an additional $1000.
