Brisbane Asian-fusion restaurant Lúc Lắc could have the drink of the summer with their Thai twist on a spicy margarita.

The margarita fuses Vietnamese and Thai flavours. Inspired by the traditional Thai dipping sauce Nam Jim, the cocktail kicks the traditional marg up a notch with passionfruit, coriander, vegan fish sauce and green chilli.

Lúc Lắc Beverage Manager Aaron Clark developed the Nam Jimmy with Liam Shepherd who’s “known as one of the best bartenders in Australia” according to Mr Clark.

“The feedback so far has been incredible,” Mr Clark said.

“It’s been massively popular. There’s a huge trend in the industry towards spicy margaritas.

“We have the perfect climate in Brisbane to enjoy fresh, vibrant cocktails.

“Especially towards Christmas season we notice a lot more people turning to cocktails to celebrate at the end of the year.

“60 per cent of our cocktail volume will be done in the last three months of the year over Christmas.”

Lúc Lắc is a newcomer to The Star in Brisbane.

With the restaurant boasting an array of food and cocktails, there’s no better time to bring on the Christmas parties.
