Guests evacuate Mantra Mooloolaba on Sunshine Coast on Easter Sunday

Smoke in an airconditioning unit caused an alarm to go off with holidaymakers evacuating a popular Sunshine Coast resort at the height of the holidays.
Easter Sunday started off dramatically for the visitors at the Mantra Mooloolaba Beach Resort on Mooloolaba Esp after four crews were called out to an alarm sounding and reports of smoke in the building.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the first crew arrived at 7.28am to reports of an alarm on level 15 and smoke coming from an airconditioning unit.
The Queensland Ambulance Service was also called.
The fire spokeswoman said by 7.49am the fire was out and one crew was still at the hotel monitoring about 8.30am.
A picture from the hotel posted to Facebook showed people milling about outside the complex.
A paramedic spokeswoman said no one was treated.
