An off-duty paramedic and rescue helicopter crew have helped save a man who was in a horror ute rollover which left his crumpled vehicle about 30 metres into the scrub after it crashed into trees.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew attended the single vehicle incident in the Gladstone region on Monday afternoon.

It's believed the utility he was driving veered off the road and rolled before crashing into trees.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the scene at around 4.30pm.

The crew was able to land the chopper on the road around 100 metres from the scene.

An off-duty Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedic who witnessed the crash, was able to initially treat the patient at the scene before other QAS paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) arrived.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the accident was caused by two youths riding dirt bikes, with one fracturing his leg as well as injuring his pelvis.

RACQ CapRescue was tasked to the incident shortly after paramedics assessed the patient to take the boy to Rockhampton Hospital.

Ambulance officers are also assessing one patient after a single-vehicle rollover on Euribumla Road at Round Hill in the Gladstone Region.
