Bruce Highway closed after car, caravan accident north of Gympie, Qld

Both lanes of the Bruce Highway have been blocked following a serious crash north of Gympie.

Bruce Hwy cut after car, caravan, house collide north of Gympie

One person has been taken to hospital and the Bruce Highway has been cut after a car towing a caravan hit a truck carrying a house, and then another car about 20km north of Gympie.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash at Curra, near the intersection with Harvey Siding Rd and the northern entrance of the soon-to-open Gympie Bypass, about 10am.

It is understood a caravan under tow side swiped the house before colliding with another car.

A man in is 40s was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition with head, abdominal and chest injuries.

Two other men, one in his 40s and on in his 70s, declined transport.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman said a man in his 70s and two men in their 40s were being assessed at the scene.

The highway is blocked in both directions, with traffic now backing up for several kilometres in each direction.

Police advise drivers to expect delays.
