Tennant Creek: Woman in serious condition following hit and run

A Northern Territory woman is in hospital and police are investigating after a 4WD allegedly fled the scene. Latest.

March 7: A woman is in hospital in a serious condition after an alleged hit and run on Staunton St in Tennant Creek overnight.

Police received the call at about 10.30pm that the woman had been struck by what appeared to be a 4WD which then sped off.

The 45-year-old woman was found with severe leg and pelvic injuries and was taken to Tennant Creek hospital where she remains.

Tennant Creek police are investigating the incident and anyone with any information or who may have seen anything in the area at the time are asked to call 131 444 and quote reference number 24063576.

Found: Police locate teenage girl after two day search

Updated, March 6: Police have found a 15-year-old girl who went missing in Alice Springs after two days of searching.

Praise Garang went missing on Monday at 3.30pm after last being seen at a residence in Braitling.

The young girl was found safe and well prior to 7.30am Wednesday.

Police have left her in the care of family and thank the public for their help in the search.

Initial, March 5: A 15-year-old Alice Springs girl is missing, with her family and police appealing to the public to come forward with any information in regards to her whereabouts.

Praise Garang was last seen on Monday afternoon at about 3.30pm at a residence in Braitling, and police hold concerns for the girl’s welfare.

Praise was last seen wearing a long sleeved, knee length dress.

The dress, NT Police say, is navy blue from the shoulder to the waist, and black with white polka dots from the knee down.

Police say Praise was also wearing black and white runners, and may be carrying a black and gold polka dot backpack.

Unlike the image supplied by police, Praise no longer has long hair and instead she now has short dreadlocks.
