It comes after a dramatic day with Territory Alliance secretary Danial Kelly on Tuesday saying the party would look to expel her at a meeting on Sunday, in a scathing letter seen by the NT News.
“From the beginning, you said you joined Territory Alliance because of Terry Mills, rather than the values of the party,” Dr Kelly wrote.
The Member for Araluen said the rumblings within the party gave her the trigger she needed to leave as planned. Ms Lambley said the party had been in a complete shambles since the election.
“I don’t want to be in a party where there’s conflict and disagreement,” she said.
“My decision to leave has been coming for a long time.
“I’m relieved and happy that it’s finally come. Out of courtesy, I undertook to stay for a few months after the election. I was very honest with the members about the fact that I couldn’t commit beyond a few months.”
Ms Lambley hit back at criticism from Mr Kelly that her behaviour during and after the election had been “detrimental” to the party.
“I haven’t spoken to (Danial Kelly). I tried to ring him a few times but he hasn’t answered my call,” Ms Lambley said.
“I don’t know what his problem is.
“I’ve been trying to extend the olive branch to work out how to work with (the party management). I’ve been urging them to have meetings, but nothing’s come about.
“This is the first formal thing that’s happened really since the election, and (they) attempt to remove me.

“It’s sad, it is really. I think it is the end of the party.”
Ms Lambley said she intended to be an independent, but didn’t rule out rejoining the CLP in the future.
Territory Alliance was contacted for comment.
