An Australian celebrity has been accused of drugging her own child while documenting her one-year-old girl’s illness on social media.

Queensland Police have launched an investigation into the family and “taken action” following claims the child’s mother was drugging her child while posting about her medical history online.

The father has denied any involvement via social media.

It would be Australia’s first high-profile Munchausen by proxy case if proven.

The woman has since made her social media pages private.

In a statement, Queensland Police said the investigation was an “active”.

“Police are aware of reports of child harm against a 1-year-old girl,” they said in a statement to news.com.au.

“The Queensland Police Service has taken action to protect the child and commenced an investigation.”

A GoFundMe for the family has since been shut down.

“Our Trust and Safety specialists are aware of the accusations and will investigate as part of our standard due diligence process,” a statement from the platform said.

“GoFundMe has a zero-tolerance policy for misuse of our platform and cooperates with police investigations.”
