This report offered a whole-of-Territory blueprint for economic rebound – with a goal of making the Territory a $40bn economy by 2030.

The report advocates Territory-wide change to win more private investment and create more jobs requiring the public and private sectors and the non-government sector to work together.

Importantly the commission identifies priority industries that are critical to grow our economy, attract private investment and create jobs.

Those industries are getting nervous. They stand ready to work with the NT government to stimulate the Territory economic recovery.

However, we are now almost three-and-a-half months down the track and industry is waiting to hear how NT government departmental heads will play their part in smashing through all the timelines in the TERC report.

Make no mistake about it, the success of the commission’s work depends on just how committed the NT public service and its CEOs are to the mammoth task ahead.

Like industry, we want to know who or what entity is responsible for completing all recommendations and will the department’s Key Performance Indicators be amended to incorporate the TERC recommendations?
