Response to Melbourne COVID-19 outbreak has been ‘proportionate so far’

If there’s anything to take from the latest Covid outbreak in Melbourne it’s that we are far from out of the woods as a country when it comes to this pandemic.

Compared to the rest of the world, Australia has been incredibly lucky and incredibly good at managing the spread of Covid – to the point where our lives have almost settled back to a point of normality.

Unfortunately, this normality has made some of us less vigilant when it comes to getting vaccinated.

With two major AFL teams coming from the middle of the danger zone to play in the Territory in just a matter of days, we are reminded just how important it is to be prepared for potential outbreaks.

And, the best way to do this is to have as much of our population as possible vaccinated.

With one of the best dry seasons for domestic tourism in years on the horizon, the worst thing that could happen is for important events like the AFL games to be shut down.

After the incredibly rough year Territory tourism and hospitality businesses had last year, they are really relying on this season being a huge success – their whole livelihoods depend on it.

So, to protect Territorians health, but also the thriving lifestyle we have up here, do your part and get your Covid jab as soon as possible.

Not only that, tell your friends and family to do the same.

The only way we can bounce back from this is to all work together.
