ANYONE who watched the CCTV footage of a large group of people invading Ms Kokai’s salon at the Karama Shopping Centre store on Friday could see how such an event shook her to her core.
So much so that she closed the doors after the incident and took services to a customer’s home.

Residents and business owners across the Territory are not only fed up with crime – be it theft and breaking or vandalism such as broken windows etc – but it’s reached the point where some are so terrified for their own safety that they are being forced to close their doors.
This is the same area where a toddler was allegedly raped in the front yard of his own home just a few weeks ago.
Residents of Karama are starting to feel like nowhere is safe.
After the NT News attended local MLA Ngaree Ah Kit’s office today, she announced she was putting on a “coffee with a cop” event.
It’s a nice gesture, but I’m sure a lot of residents would see it as too little, too late.
And, I'm sure many people are aware that the NT Police are doing their absolute best. They’re on the front lines every day. They know exactly what’s happening and how tough it is.
I think what the people of Karama would like is to speak to Ms Ah Kit herself. She’s the one who really has the power to make a difference.
