PARKS and Wildlife staff are feverishly getting our hunting reserves back in order in time for the Waterfowl Hunting Season opening on September 23.

The areas look dry, but this isn’t daunting these tireless workers.

Sadly, they are having to replace rubbish bins shot up by thoughtless vandals amongst all their other myriad tasks.

They will be doing their best to put information signage up designating buffer zones, so hunters aren’t caught out in the wrong area.

They will be clearing tracks of fallen trees and repairing bog holes with material and earth moving equipment.

Private land hunting a great idea

Magpie geese limits fly in the face of hunters’ advice

It is such a pity that valuable time will be consumed on the bin repairs.

I feel sorry for the morons who think banging a drum that doesn’t move makes their willy bigger, when in fact it makes them look like a knob.

If they need shooting practice they could come along to NT Field and Game Goose Fever Expo today and win a shotgun for their troubles in the 75 target Simulated Field event from 8am.

Nominations will close at 9.30am or when the last squad leaves to shoot. Hunters will also be able to get or renew their Waterfowl Hunting Permit on site too.
