Goose season 2020 only days away

You can feel the fever rising as goose season approaches.

Hunters far and wide are making plans for opening day.

Scouting for the birds and identifying the flight lanes to and from the resting spots.

We are going through our gear and checking it twice.

Opening day of the waterfowl hunting season is as keenly anticipated by hunters as Christmas Day by children.

NT Field and Game is once again holding Goose Fever Expo at the Mickett Creek Shooting Complex range on Sunday, September 13 from 8am.

All the gun shops have been invited so hunters can stock up on ammo and other essentials.

NT Parks and Wildlife will be there with permits as will the Weeds Branch with advice on weed identification within our wetlands.

Hunters can really help both agencies by correctly identifying the weed and the location of outbreaks of gamba, olive hymen-achne and mimosa within the hunting reserves.

NT Power Sports will have demo models of their All Terrain Vehicle range on display.

Bridge Autos Toyota have been invited to bring down a Hilux or two.

Deals can be done with all exhibitors on the day.

The club is holding a 75 target Simulated Field competition that everyone can join in and shoot some goose type presented clay targets that will really get the eye in for the season.

So if you haven’t picked up your gun in a while, head down to NT Field and Game next Sunday for Goose Fever Expo or this morning for Fathers’ Day and shoot practice on Auto Simulated Field, Five Stand Sporting Clays and Skeet from 9am till noon.
