Two men charged over brazen gangland shooting that sprayed Casula home with 50 bullets
Police have charged Tyrese King and a second man over a brazen Casula shooting where more than 50 bullets were fired into a home and a threatening note was left taunting an Alameddine crime associate.
Two men have been charged over a brazen gang-related shooting in Casula last month, where more than 50 bullets were fired into a home in what detectives say was a targeted attack linked to Sydney’s ongoing organised-crime conflict.
About 2.20am on November 15, officers responded to reports of heavy gunfire on MacKellar St, Casula.
On arrival, police officers found at least 52 bullets had been shot into a two-storey home from a semi-automatic weapon.
No one was inside the property at the time and no injuries were reported.
A threatening note — scrawled on a piece of cardboard — was left at the scene, which read: “Come out the boneyard (Barangaroo) and PLAY WITH US!”
Police allege the note was a taunt to an Alameddine associate to leave the safety of his Barangaroo high-rise.
A stolen black Audi S5 sedan, believed to have been used in the attack and fitted with cloned plates, was later found abandoned on Claremont Circuit in Wattle Grove on November 18.
The investigation was then taken over by Strike Force Cornville and detectives arrested Tyrese King, 20, at Parramatta Police Station on December 1.
Police will allege King was the gunman who carried out the shooting.
He was charged with 18 offences, including discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; firing at a dwelling in organised criminal activity; possessing prohibited firearms and weapons.
He was also charged with ammunition offences; dealing with the proceeds of crime; participating in a criminal group and being carried in a stolen vehicle.
He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on December 2.
Investigations under Strike Force Cornville are continuing.
A second arrest, of a 19-year-old man, came after a high-risk search warrant was executed on November 27 at a Phillip St unit in Waterloo.
Police allege he was involved in moving the vehicle used in the shooting.
He was charged at Surry Hills Police Station and formally refused bail when he appeared before Bail Court on November 28.
He is due to face Fairfield Local Court on January 21, 2026.
