Michael Clarke and Jade Yarbrough fined over THAT wild park dust-up

Police have dished out minimal fines to former cricket captain Michael Clarke and his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough for creating a public nuisance over their wild fracas in a Noosa park.

It’s the lover’s spat that will cost them $862 but could end up costing Michael Clarke and Jade Yarbrough far more.

The former Test cricket captain may lose some of his lucrative overseas cricket commentating gigs, although it’s possible the fracas will bring more eyeballs to Yarbrough’s online homewares business, at least temporarily.

The pair could each have copped fines of $3336 for the wild row at a public park in Noosa. But Queensland police chose the lesser end of the scale of penalties, issuing them each a fine of $431.

On Saturday police confirmed they issued a 30-year-old Queensland woman and a 41-year-old NSW man with Public Nuisance Infringement Notices “following an incident depicted in footage at Lions Park on Gympie Terrace in Noosaville earlier this month”.

“No other offences were detected during the investigation,” a police spokesman said, declaring the investigation over.

Clarke and Yarbrough were in Noosa trying to patch up their rocky relationship when a quiet dinner turned into a wild fracas.

Sources close to Clarke and Yarbrough seem to be at odds over whether the couple were on a break when the former Australian cricket captain hooked up with his ex, activewear label co-founder Pip Edwards.

Some close to the pair said they were “on a break” , while others disagreed.

“They were very much together and suggestions otherwise by some in Clarke’s camp is ridiculous,” one source close to Yarbrough said.

“Why would she have been so upset if they’d broken up or were on a break? Makes no sense,” said another.

Clarke was reportedly telling people in December that he was single and social media posts suggest Yarbrough was travelling in Aspen without him.

Edwards was apparently riled when she saw photos published of Clarke and Yarbrough enjoying their holiday reunion in the popular Queensland tourist spot in January.

Sources say the celebrity couple had just sat down to dinner with Jade’s sister Jasmine, and her husband, TV host Karl Stefanovic, when Jade received screenshots from Edwards revealing recent text messages between her and Clarke.

Edwards then called Jade, sparking the ugly fight that spilled out into the park and was captured on video.

Police investigated the incident, which resulted in Jade slapping the former Test cricketer while her sister, Stevanovic and their friend, accountant Anthony Bell, tried to defuse the situation.

Clarke was heard appealing to Jade, before yelling obscenities at Stevanovic in the video footage obtained by The Daily Telegraph.

“They’d all only had one glass of wine, so this talk of a wild night is not true. They’d just got to the restaurant and sat down when it happened,” the source claimed.

A source close to Edwards added: “Pip realises how much she’s thrown him under a bus and she’s trying to talk to him but he won’t take the calls.”

Jade has since disabled comments on her social media, after intense backlash over the clash which may have put Clarke’s commentary role for Australia’s upcoming cricket tour of India in jeopardy.

She’s said to be distraught and embarrassed by the explosive screaming match.

The revelations come as new photos emerge of Clarke and a clearly upset Jade in deep conversation at their Noosa holiday house before the clash in the park.

A source close to Clarke said he was “most concerned about the way Jade is being portrayed since the footage surfaced because it is not who she is”.

“He’s devastated that he’s put her in this position,” the source said.

“Everyone he knows has nothing but kind words to say about her. She is an incredible and talented business woman and a genuine and great girl.”

Clarke, who sources say “swears black and blue” he was spending time apart from Jade in December and telling people on New Year’s Eve that he was single, told The Daily Telegraph he was “shattered” by the public spat and took full responsibility for it.

Stefanovic is believed to have called a family meeting the night the video emerged to explain to his daughter, Willow, who was on the family holiday, what had happened and that her aunty needed support through this difficult time.

Jade has since bunkered down in Brisbane with family, with sources claiming neither Jasmine nor her parents want Jade to reunite with Clarke.

It is understood that no charges will be laid in relation to the incident.

Clarke’s upcoming commentary stint in India is in doubt in the wake of the fracas, sources have confirmed the Indian Cricket Board is reviewing his place in its commentary team for next month’s Australian Test tour.

Clarke has been signed alongside former teammate Matthew Hayden as the Australian voices on the global broadcast that will be taken exclusively by Fox Sports in Australia in prime-time through February and March.

But the image-conscious BCCI is believed to be re-evaluating Clarke’s position, worth an estimated $US100,000 plus expenses for the four-Test series.

The BCCI refused to comment when contacted by The Saturday Telegraph.
