For celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, the brawl involving two of his biggest clients and best mateswas a situation as sticky as the Noosa humidity.
Bell owns a $10 million holiday home in the Queensland tourist hotspot where his two famous mates and their partners, Yarbrough sisters Jade and Jasmine, were staying during their New Year’s beachside vacation.
But when the accountant to the stars invited legendary Australian cricketer Clarke, TV host Stefanovic and the Yarbroughs up to stay with him, he surely did not expect to find himself attempting to calm tensions of the situation that unfolded on January 10.
In video of the incident revealed by The Daily Telegraph, Bell can be heard trying to separate Clarke and his now ex-girlfriend Jade.
“Split up, just split up guys … please guys. Jade (Yarbrough), Jade … guys,” Bell can be heard to say.
At the same time Jasmine, the older of the two Yarbrough sisters, can be heard telling her sibling to “Stop … stop”.
Bell then chimes in again with a “let it go Jade”, before the video ends with him walking across the screen.
A friend of those involved said they thought “Belly” had handled the awkward situation well.
“It would be understandable if Belly just wanted to get out of there, but to his credit he stayed in there to break them up,” they said.
“I think he did quite a good job.”
Bell has regularly invited Clarke up to his holiday home in Noosa, including in mid-2020 when he took his relationship with his fashion designer ex-girlfriend Pip Edwards public for the first time.
The former lovers spent many other days together at Bell’s homes and on his superyacht, Ghost II.
Clarke and Bell then invested together in a $15 million boat called the Nassima.
But Stefanovic has also been a longtime mate of the Bell Partners CEO.
The pair have been friends for decades and not only regularly had dinner together, but alongside other big time celebrities.
Bell’s paddock of superstar clients have included not only the Today Show host and ex-Australian batsmen, but AFL legend Lance Franklin, NRL champion Anthony Minichiello, Olympic gold medallist Grant Hackett and The Morning Show co-host Larry Emdur.
The wealthy accountant and Sydney to Hobart yacht race skipper has himself made headlines over his own relationship troubles.
Bell and ex-wife Kelly Landry were involved in a lengthy court hearing over an apprehended violence order (AVO) that NSW Police attempted to take out against him over an alleged incident that occurred in 2016.
But Magistrate Robert Williams dismissed the application, finding there was “a lack of conclusive evidence” about the allegations against Bell.
Bell did not respond to The Daily Telegraph’s attempts to contact him.
