A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being pulled from the water in Sydney’s west.

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being pulled from the water at Penrith Weir.
Emergency services were called to the Great River Walk opposite Penrith Weir about 10.45am to reports of a drowning incident.
Upon arrival, paramedics located a man in his 40s already undergoing CPR by bystanders after being rescued by members of the public and took over.
Meanwhile, a NSW Fire and Rescue crew located a 14-year-old boy stuck on the weir and deployed the “arch angel” – an inflatable lifesaving raft – and successfully rescued the youth.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the older man was transported to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition while the teen was taken to the Nepean Hospital as a precaution.
NSW Police officers attached to the Nepean Police Area Command attended and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
