A 64-year-old man has died after being stabbed in the neck in Sydney’s west. A 34-year-old man has been arrested at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries.

A man has died after being stabbed in the neck in Sydney’s west on Thursday morning.
Police were called to Layton St in Wentworthville shortly before 6.30am.
On arrival they found a 64-year-old man with a stab wound to his neck.
Paramedics attended, but were unable to save him, and the man was pronounced dead. He has yet to be formally identified.
A 34-year-old man was arrested shortly after and taken to Granville Police Station.
Police believe all three individuals involved — the victim, the suspect, and a 60-year-old woman who was also at the property but unharmed — were known to each other.
A crime scene has been established as investigations into the circumstances.
