Cops probe gang tensions after separate brawls at Kings Cross and Eastern Creek

Underworld sources say bikies are treating Sydney’s Kings Cross “like the old days” with reports crime figures are paying off security staff to get into clubs through the back door.

Police are on alert for new conflicts on Sydney streets after they were given information about two separate brawls involving associates of the Alameddine and Comanchero crime gangs.

One is believed to involve a well-known Comanchero associate clashing with members of the KVT street gang, who are Alameddine associates.

The other was a melee after Mohamad Alameddine was involved in a high-speed car crash at Eastern Creek last week.

In the first incident, CCTV vision from a Kings Cross nightclub as well as outside the venue in Bayswater Rd is now being examined by officers from the Raptor Squad after the fight on October 5.

It’s believed there was a confrontation between a number of male patrons with connections to either the KVT gang or the Comancheros. Police are looking into a time frame from 11.30pm that night until 1.30am.

Well known Sydney rapper Ali Younes, also a close associate of the Alameddines, was in the street at the time but not involved in any way.

“It’s causing some drama between the Commo's and some of the KVT because normally they are both on the side of the Alameddines,” said one source.

Mohamad Alameddine escaped with only minor injuries.

A number of underworld sources said a lot of (bikies) were visiting Kings Cross of a night thinking it was “like the old days” where they could party to all hours. However new liquor licensing rules can block known criminals from entering licensed premises on the glitter strip.

There have been reports of crime figures paying off security guards to get in the back door.

Police confirmed they are investigating the fight at the club.

“About 2.15pm on Monday, October 17 officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad executed a search warrant at a licensed premises on Bayswater Rd at Kings Cross,” a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

“During a subsequent search, police located and seized electronic items for forensic examination.”

Ali Younes is believed to have been at the Kings Cross club but was not involved.

Police routinely run operations where they saturate the Kings Cross entertainment district on weekends and have the co-operation of all venues to ban bikies and associates or members of known criminal networks.

Members of the Raptor Squad have a heavy presence in the area every Friday and Saturday night and are routinely checking venues during the week as well.

Police are also now studying video of a brawl which broke out after alleged crime figure Mohamad Alameddine crashed his Lamborghini at Eastern Creek last week. There is no suggestion he was involved in the melee at the track.

Alameddine survived the 200km crash with only minor injuries. But soon after there was a clash between spectators, which was caught on video.

Whether it’s related to the crash or not is unclear but police are looking into whether any are well known players in the crime network.

A police spokesman confirmed NSW Criminal Group Squad were aware and have viewed the footage captured on a mobile phone.
