A GROUP of youths allegedly stole a car and yelled abuse out of the windows while driving around Alice Springs, according to police.
Southern Watch Commander Shaun Furniss said a Toyota Prius was reported stolen from Gillen, and later found in the CBD with a number of youths inside and driving erratically.

Senior Sergeant Furniss said on one occasion the youths were hanging out of the car windows and yelling abuse at other passing vehicles. Police took action at 3.20am.
“Being aware the vehicle would not stop call on, a tyre deflation device was deployed successfully in Railway Tce,” he said.

Four youths ran from the car, which was recovered. A 17-year-old was arrested, and the car is under forensic examination.
