What’s open across the NT for the Queen’s day of mourning public holiday 2022

From walks in national park to visiting your fave cafe, here’s your definitive list of what’s open on the public holiday in Darwin, Alice Springs and the rest of the Territory.

Territorians will be given a one-off public holiday on Thursday to mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty The Queen will take place on Thursday, September 22, with some businesses changing their trading hours for the public holiday.

Here are the Territorian businesses operating as usual.

Darwin venues

Charlie’s of Darwin: The Raintree Terrace open with a reduced menu – 5pm- late

Besser Kitchen and Brew Bar: 8am-2pm

Rays Patisserie and cafe: 7am-2pm (adjusted hours for public holiday)

Laneway Speciality Coffee: 7.30am- 2.30pm (adjusted hours for public holiday)

The Rabbit Hole: 8am- 2pm (adjusted hours for public holiday)

Crocosaurus Cove: 9am-6pm

Darwin Wave Pool: 10am-6pm

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets: 4am-9pm

The Cavenagh Hotel: 7am-9pm

Darwin ski club: Noon-8pm (no happy hour)

Beachfront Hotel: 8am-midnight

Deckchair Cinema: Screenings at 7pm (Blaze) and 9.15pm (Boy from Heaven)

The Tap on Mitchell: Open from 8am- 1am (Live music from 3pm)

Casuarina Coastal Reserve walks and amenities: Open

Channel Point Coastal Reserve: Booking required to visit Channel Point Coastal Reserve

Charles Darwin National Park: Mountain bike trails are open. The park closes at 7pm daily

Djukbinj National Park: Open
