A well-known northern suburbs cafe has closed down, with social media posts suggesting it had financially been impacted road works.

THE well known Groove Cafe and Gear at the Nightcliff Village has closed down.
The cafe, a popular spot for many people had its last day of trading on June 5.
Comments from the cafe on Facebook indicate the cafe has closed permanently.
Fans of the cafe voiced their sadness stating they would miss their morning breakfast there.
It’s not clear why the cafe has closed, however posts on social media indicate the road works had become an issue – impacting trade and creating dust problems.

The cafe over the years had been subjected to constant break-ins before roller doors were installed.
Crooks were still not deterred and on occasion the roller doors were forced open.
The NT News has in the past reported staff sleeping at the cafe in a bid to deter people from breaking in.
The owner of the cafe was contacted for comment.
