THE residential sales record for Wulagi has been obliterated seven years after the suburb’s last major sale price was set.
Last Saturday, 16 Peregrine Street, Wulagi, sold for $780,000 at auction by Real Estate Central projects director and auctioneer Daniel Harris, crushing the suburb’s previous sales record of $725,000 that was set in 2013.

Mr Harris said the auction was brought forward after just eight days on the market due to the high level of interest in the recently renovated home, with 81 groups inspecting the property.
“We could have sold the property 10 times over within days of hitting the market,” he said.
“Rather than negotiating behind closed doors and running the risk of excluding new buyers who were keen to inspect, we moved the auction forward.”
There were 14 registered unconditional bidders and the auction opened at $600,000.
Mr Harris said the sale was the result of the home’s presentation and the auction sales method.
“In the last six months I’ve lost count of the amount of auctions we’ve had where the reserve price has been smashed by $50,000 or more,” he said.

Owner Rod, who didn’t want his surname published, praised the efforts of Mr Harris and executive sales associate Kylie Westbrook, saying it was a phenomenal time to sell.
“We’ve never been through the auction process before and in the end I’m glad we did. We got what we think was a good result for everybody,” he said.
