TWO people have died and another is seriously injured after a head-on collision in Johnston on Friday night.
Major Crash Investigation Unit Acting Sergeant Rhys Studders said a dark grey Toyota Corolla was travelling on the wrong side of Roystonea Ave, between Lambrick Ave and Buscall Ave, when it collided with a white Hyundai sedan in the inbound lane just before 11pm.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 34-year-old woman, was killed at the scene.

It’s understood she was on her way home from work.
The driver of the Toyota, a 20-year-old man, was trapped inside his car, which caught fire.
He was extracted from the vehicle by members of Fire and Rescue but later died at the scene.
A passenger in the Hyundai sedan, a 21-year old-man, was removed from the vehicle by witnesses to the crash.
He was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.
There were no other occupants in either car.
At the scene this morning , the two cars had come to rest on either side of the road and debris was strewn across the road.
The Toyota was blackened and badly damaged, with the bonnet so badly dented parts of the engine had been exposed, while the right hand doors of the Hyundai had been badly battered.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.
Acting Sgt Studders said police did not yet know the cause of the crash and were investigating a range of factors, but said there had been a “speed disparity” between the two vehicles.
“It appears that potentially the Toyota may have been going a little faster than the Hyundai,” he said.
“There’s a speed disparity there.”
“But what speed each vehicle was doing, I’m not too sure.”
The speed limit in the area is 80km/h.
Acting Sgt Studders urged anyone with any information about the incident to contact police.
“If anyone saw either vehicle prior to the crash, or was in the area at the time, we urge them to come forward and speak to police,” he said.
“If anyone has dash cam footage showing the vehicles prior to the crash, then we’d really like to see that.”
A section of Roystonea Ave has been closed while officers investigate and detours are in place.
The incident brings the NT road toll so far this year to five, with four lives lost on the roads in the past week alone.
