THOSE doing it tough in lockdown can grab a hot meal from the Darwin Trailer Boat Club.
The Fannie Bay club is giving back to the community by offering a takeaway meal to the public for a donation of their choice with all money raised going to Foodbank.
Darwin Trailer Boat Club general manager Alex Ehrlich said with many people unable to work this week money could be tight and this was a way to ensure people had something to eat.

“It’s just doing the right thing. We did it in the last lockdown and it just feels good,” Mr Ehrlich said.
“So many people who live here survive from pay pack to pay pack and would go hungry now unless for things like this or Vinnies.”
Mr Ehrlich said the dinner provided a means for stock already purchased to be used. Chefs are preparing about 500 meals, including pumpkin soup, fried rice and a pasta dish.
The drive through community kitchen will run each Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm for as long as the lockdown lasts.
