A TOP End doctor charged with possessing a range of illegal drugs has had his Supreme Court appearance delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nhulunbuy GP Tim Blake was found allegedly in possession of quantities of cocaine, methamphetamines and ketamine after allegedly failing a drug-driving test last year.

The court had previously heard Blake intended to plead guilty in the Supreme Court later this month but on Monday his lawyer, Peter Maley, told the Darwin Local Court quarantine requirements had thrown a spanner in the works.

“There’s been some problems with coming from a hotspot and getting quarantine spots at Howard Springs because of the big influx of all the local punters who have filled it up,” he said.

Blake will now return to court in December.
