NT Police charge Nhulunbuy doctor with drug, firearm offences

A TERRITORY doctor will face court after allegedly being caught with various illicit drugs and weapons following a police bust in Nhulunbuy.

The 38-year-old Gove doctor, Tim Blake, was taken to the Nhulunbuy police station where he allegedly tested positive for meth and amphetamine, after police allege he was arrested in possession of several bags of meth.

A subsequent police search of his home allegedly uncovered more drugs including cocaine, meth, ketamine and prescription medications as well as a number of firearms.

Dr Blake is facing 14 charges in total.

He was charged with five counts of possessing a trafficable quantity of a dangerous drug, one count of a possessing a commercial quantity of a dangerous drug and two counts of possessing a dangerous drug.

He was also charged with drug driving and driving an uninsured and unregistered car.

He was also charged with failing to meet the storage requirements of a firearm and ammunition.

He was granted bail in the Nhulunbuy Local Court last week to appear in Darwin Local Court on February 10.
