Thousands of unclaimed vouchers to be handed to people on waitlist

MORE Territorians will begin to receive their Territory Tourism Voucher from this week.
Vouchers are starting to be issued to those left on the waitlist after the first batch of 26,000 were snapped up in under 10 hours.
More than 8000 $200 vouchers worth a combined total of $1.6 million were unredeemed when the 30-day validity expired.

They have now gone back into the funding pool for redistribution, with the goal to deliver the full voucher allocation to Territorians and therefore businesses.
Vouchers will be issued to those on the waitlist in a staggered allocation on a first-in, first-served basis.
Voucher distribution will be over a period of time, not in one big release, to help manage demand.
Territorians are urged to use their voucher to book a local tourism experience they never got around to enjoying for themselves.
Vouchers can be put towards a Northern Territory tourism experience, tour, accommodation, hire car or recreational fishing charter.
As with the first distribution, voucher holders have 30 days from the date they receive their voucher to make a booking, which can be for any time before October 31.
Vouchers must be used on a bookable product available online, over the phone or in person through the NT’s Visitor Information Centres.

Voucher holders are being asked to try to book online in the first instance.
The Northern Territory Government has announced another two rounds of the popular Territory Tourism Voucher scheme.
Round 2 will launch in November and Round 3 will launch in February next year to help tourism operators through the low season.
Details will be made available in the coming months.
