THE Territory’s own Rob Collins will make his US film debut alongside superstar actor Mark Wahlberg in Arthur The King, portraying the arch rival in a real-life underdog story.
Set to be filmed in the Dominican Republic, Collins said it was his biggest film project to date.
“It is certainly the furthest afield I’ve been, it’s a huge opportunity,” he revealed to the NT News.
“Without a doubt, Wahlberg would be the biggest name I’ve worked with. I signed with an American agent about a year ago and this is my first big American break.”

Based on the book Arthur, The Dog who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home, the film follows a stray dog named Arthur who followed then Swedish team captain Mikael Lindnord (played by Wahlberg) and his team in their Adventure Race across South America. Collins plays one of Lindnord’s major rivals and adversaries in New Zealand team captain Nathan Fa’avae and their pursuit of the 2014 World Championship.
While the opportunity is not one he expected, he’s definitely grateful given the state of the world and international film industry.
“Even on a good year with no virus around or global disaster, it can be tough in the industry and especially with American gigs, for Australians it’s a highly competitive space to be in,” he said.

Collins said he was excited but there were some nerves. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t anxious about it in some respect given the pandemic,” he said.
Directed by Baltasar Kormakur and produced by Wahlberg, Arthur The King will begin filming in January 2021.
