URGENT work will be required before the Nightcliff Jetty can reopen, however long term repairs are needed.
It’s expected the long term repairs will be undertaken this year.
The Nightcliff Jetty was closed on April 15 due to public safety fears.
Corrosion, and broken support beams can be seen underneath the jetty.

An Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics Department spokesman said a structural engineer had assessed the jetty and would prepare a report.
“The advice provided to date is there is some urgent works to be undertaken while more long term repairs are undertaken later this year,” the spokesman said.
