ONE of the most popular spots to watch the sunset in Nightcliff has been temporarily closed due to safety fears.

Nightcliff Jetty was temporarily closed overnight by the Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics Deparment due to safety fears following a routine inspection.

A post on the department Facebook page said further inspections would be undertaken.

“The closure comes after advice from a routine inspection that a temporary closure is necessary for works to be undertaken to improve public safety,” the statement read.
