TERRITORY Alliance will fast-track a $150 million pipeline project from Darwin River Dam to Manton Dam if elected.
Party leader Terry Mills said the pipeline would deliver safe drinking water while still allowing the recreational use of Manton Dam.

“Our construction sector needs major projects to stand up quickly in a post COVID-19 recession and the interconnect between Manton Dam and Darwin River Dam is exactly what is needed to secure water supply through the next two decades,” he said.
“The feasibility has been done on the interconnect and technology through an upgrade of the Darwin Water Treatment plan means this important project could deliver safe drinking water while still allowing recreation use of Manton Dam. It’s a win-win project worth about $150 million that would deliver local jobs.

“It would also become Darwin’s secondary source of reticulated water, easing pressure on the water reserves in the McMinn-Howard East bore fields.”
If elected the project would begin in October.
