THOUSANDS of Year 12 students have begun the final leg of their high school journey as core exams begin across the Territory.
More than 1400 students begin their final exams for the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) this week across 33 subjects, including 17 languages at different levels.

Students in lower year levels are also completing their final exams for the year.
Another 1600 students are also finalising their assessments.
Casuarina Senior College acting principal Chris Harding was thrilled to lead students through final exams and assessments.
“I always feel anxious with students that are sitting in these examinations, as they do I’m sure, but it’s also a relief I’m sure for many students after quite a few years of hard work to be finally on that home run, their home stretch to finish it and get these examinations out and ready to start a new phase of their life,” he said.
NT Department of Education chief executive Karen Weston thanked staff, parents and families for supporting students through the year.

“It’s been a challenging year, one like no other,” she said.
“It’s great to have us on the final stretches in 2020, after such a strange year and complete with some normality.”
