The NT Newsunderstands the One Stop Cellarbrations Liquor Superstore in Pinelands was bought by Coles last month.
The store was opened by prominent local businessman Gary Coleman and his wife Duffy in 2017.
At the time, Mr Coleman told the NT News the store was a dream come true.
“Does Darwin need a superstore and the choices that bring with it? We definitely do,” he said.
“It’s been our dream to open this shop … we’ve built our dream.”
Since the store was purchased it has been rebranded as Liquorland.
There are now seven Liquorlands in the Darwin/Palmerston area.

“Our new Liquorland store will provide customers a locally tailored range of fantastic beer, wine and spirits.”
Upon the superstore’s initial opening, the Colemans were able to comply with the NT government’s 400sq m floor space restriction by contracting the retail area of the store.
The restriction, which was enacted in late 2016, blocked liquor giant Dan Murphy's from coming to Darwin.
In March 2017, a Dan Murphy's spokesman congratulated the store on developing within the 400sq m rules.
