SMOKERS will have to butt out at select waterholes in Litchfield National Park come the New Year as NT Parks and Wildlife look to create smoke free zones.
The zones where smoking will be banned are Florence Falls, Buley Rockhole and Wangi Falls.
The zones will be different for each waterhole and come into effect on January 1.
The changes follow on from the introduction of smoke-free zones at Berry Springs Nature Park and Howard Springs Nature Park in November.

Parks and Wildlife Commission Executive Director Sally Egan said the changes would align with public expectations.
“We’ve received really positive feedback following the introduction of smoke-free areas, particularly at Howard Springs, so it’s great to implement the zones at another family-orientated location,” Ms Egan said.
“We want visitors to be able to enjoy a healthy, safe and family friendly environment and make the most of the Territory’s clean, fresh air.”
