DARWIN copped a soaking overnight as a large storm passed over the city.

Almost 40mm has fallen across the city to 6.30am, and the wet weather is expected to keep rolling on.

There is a 90 per cent chance the capital city will see a shower from late this morning.

If you’re out and about. pack an umbrella as a thunderstorm is possible with heavy falls.

The storm yesterday evening and last night dumped 47mm at Marrara, 15mm at Gunn Point, and 8mm at Cox Peninsular.
