A NORTHERN suburbs restaurant has declined to comment after making social media posts promoting their so-called “no masks we don’t ask” policy during Darwin’s Covid-19 lockdown.
The business, which the NT News has chosen not to name, made a post on their Facebook page on Thursday stating that if customers are not wearing a mask in the store they would “assume you are exempt, no questions asked.”
“Please know you will be warmly welcomed however you show up,” the post reads.
Staff have also reportedly not been wearing masks in the store.
Without naming the business, Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker told media on Sunday he was “aware that there’s been some businesses that have been actively promoting the fact that they’re not going to judge you if you don’t wear a mask”.
“Let me say this, that is inappropriate behaviour,” he said.
The business declined to comment when contacted on Sunday.
