“Police used their jetskis to rescue the pair who at the time were waist deep in water and returned them safely to shore,” Sen Sgt Engels said.
St John Ambulance operations manager Craig Garraway said the rescued pair were kids.
He said they did not require medical attention.
Acting Sergeant Sean Stanley warned people to be mindful of the tides.
“The incoming tides here in the Top End can move incredibly quickly, this incident serves as a timely reminder to check tide times and always be aware around our waterways,” he said.
“I would like to commend the members of the Water Police for safely conveying the pair back to shore and for the assistance provided by other agencies. This was a fantastic result.”
