THE local Hells Angels sergeant-at-arms is behind bars at Holtze Prison after a day of police raids and arrests targeting the gang.

Phillip Pearce O’Shea, 44, was refused bail in Darwin Local Court on Wednesday after Organised Crime police raided his property at Bellamack, seizing 10g of meth.

O’Shea was also charged with resisting arrest and assaulting police, charges defence lawyer Peter Maley said he planned to challenge.

The Bellamack raid which snared O’Shea was one of three related raids on Tuesday afternoon and evening, including one at the gang’s Girraween clubhouse.

Prosecutor Tami Grealy said O’Shea posed a risk of reoffending and should be kept behind bars, while defence lawyer Peter Maley said his client was the main carer of a young child and the drugs – which have a street value as high as $10,000 – were for personal use.

Judge Tanya Fong Lim said: “So he’s a social user of meth and is the carer of a three-year-old child?”

Mr Maley said: “It’s not that uncommon”.

Separately, Skylie Ann Monck, 29, of Driver, who is pictured in posts on social media posing with O’Shea, was arrested and bailed after spending a night in the cells.

Monck is charged with possessing drugs, fireworks and tainted money.

Fellow gang member Samuel King, 42, and his girlfriend, Nikki Napier, 29, walked from court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to a string of minor drug charges.

Judge Alan Woodcock docked them a combined $4100 in fines and levies after police raided their room at SkyCity casino, where the court heard the couple planned to spend the night snorting cocaine, smoking meth and taking designer drug fantasy.

Prosecutor Rebecca Everitt said King was sitting on the toilet when police barged in.

Mr Woodcock said drugs at licensed venues were a “scourge” and drug takers should expect to be caught.

“The drug squad in the Northern Territory are particularly active in that regard,” he said.

Monck is due back in court on November 6 and O’Shea on November 23.
