WHILE Darwin is expecting a wet couple of months, the official start to the wet season this week is set to be dry with a reduced chance of rain.
While thunderstorms are possible leading up to the Western Daly district, the chance of rain only diminishes as the week unfolds.
Instead, dry and muggy weather is forecast for the Top End on Friday.
There is only a slight chance of showers around Darwin on Saturday and Sunday.

Flow-on from the wet season’s early showers are likely to flow into the Red Centre, however, with thunderstorms bringing gusty conditions to the area.
They are likely to produce rain today to the far southwest corner of the Territory including up to 5mm at Uluru and possibly extending east to Alice Springs.

So far it’s been a strong lead-up to the wet season with CDU (94.8mm), Middle Point (48.6mm) and Yeuralba recording their highest totals.
