THE new Commissioner tasked with fighting corruption in the Northern Territory has been revealed.
Michael Riches will take up the head role within the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption NT when his predecessor steps down in July.
A motion to appoint Mr Riches is expected to be moved in parliament on Thursday.
Mr Riches, who hails from South Australia, was previously the Deputy Commissioner for that state’s ICAC.
Prior to that, he has worked across a number of anti-corruption roles, was a solicitor and a police officer with South Australian Police.
The appointment comes after NT ICAC’s current Commissioner Ken Fleming announced he would be stepping down from the role in July this year.
More to come.
