A MAN who was on his final day of mandatory quarantine has been fined $5056 for leaving early.
The 20-year-old was in quarantine at Howard Springs when he was caught by police and facility staff attempting to leave early about 10.30am today.
He will remain at Howard Springs to finish the mandatory isolation period.
Incident Controller Acting Commander Sachin Sharma said it was unacceptable for anyone to leave quarantine early.

“Directions are in place to keep all Territorians safe and we do take the breaches seriously,” he said.
“We will intervene and enforce the directions that are so critical to maintain public health.”
There are 504 people currently in mandatory quarantine, and 149 fines have been issues.
