A LONG-TERM NT barrister has been named the NT’s new Solicitor-General

LONG-TERM NT barrister Nikolai Christrup SC has been appointed at the NT’s new Solicitor-General.
Mr Christrup graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the Northern Territory University in 1997 and has been practising in the NT since 2004. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2018.

He is replacing Sonia Brownhill SC, who has been appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory.
Attorney-General Selena Uibo said Mr Christrup brings “a wealth of local expertise” to the role.
“He has received briefs at all levels of the courts hierarchy, including high profile appearances in the High Court of Australia.
