Livestock theft NT: Cattle seized from Katherine property
Eight cattle have been seized from a property near Katherine, as Taskforce Starlight cracks down on livestock theft.

A 29-YEAR-OLD man is being interviewed by investigators after allegedly stolen cattle was found at his property.
Six Brahman cows and two calves bearing a brand not associated with his property were seized after a search warrant was executed.
The seizure occurred at a property on Bray Road, Cossack.
The man has since received a notice to appear at Katherine Local Court in relation to stealing, possession of stolen property, failure to complete a waybill and failure to provide information to National Livestock Identification System database.
Acting Superintendent Paul Lawson said he urged anyone with information about livestock theft to contact police.
“Taskforce Starlight is a collaboration between NT Police, Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Livestock Biosecurity, Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association and Northern Territory Buffalo Industry Council, to combat stock theft and stock related crime in the Territory,” he said.
