We are here today to celebrate the wonderful life of Brittany Rose Haste (Britt).
I’ve had mentioned to me a number of times how bad the world is when somebody like Britt can be struck down by such a horrible illness. Something we have come to realise is that this illness is horrible, but that the world is actually a great place filled with many incredible, caring, loving and generous people.
I won’t go through and name everyone individually that has been there supporting us through this rough journey over the past 5 years for the fear of missing individuals out, but I’d like to mention the support that we have received, and provide thanks.
When Britt was first diagnosed with her illness and Sharon travelled to Melbourne, friends assisted with accommodation, provision of a car hired for Sharon to transport Britt to and from medical appointments, and then the loan of a car for the time Britt and Sharon were in Melbourne – 12 months.
Thank you!
The medical, surgical, nursing and allied health care provided at the Epworth Hospital Melbourne – Thank you!

Britt’s incredible friends in Darwin – school friends, social friends, work friends, loving friends. You all showed true friendship prior to and throughout Britt’s illness. Your friendship kept Britt young, energetic, motivated, excited and optimistic.
She looked forward to and loved every social event she attended with you. No matter how sick she was, she fussed around choosing the appropriate make-up and dress/clothes to wear. She always had a lot of pride in her appearance, and always looked beautiful.
A number of you recently travelled from Melbourne to Darwin to spend time with Britt, and then travelled again for today’s celebration (and many are linked in today online). Thank you!
Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you everyone – there really is a lot of good people in this world.
