HOT and sticky Build-Up conditions are expected to continue in the Top End, with the Arnhem district in the grips of a severe heatwave.
The Darwin region will see the chance of a shower increase to 60 per cent later in the week, but Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Billy Lynch says the showers, if there are any, will be scattered.
“For the most part it’s going to another hot week for the Top End,” he said.

“There will be some storms around, but we aren’t expecting widespread showers and storms.”
The Daly region, particularly around Wadeye, has more chance of seeing rain.
In Central Australia, Alice Springs residents can expect a “cool” change with the temperature forecast to drop eight degrees from 41C to 33C.

Mr Lynch said the southern hemisphere had seen its first cyclone of the season – Alicia – form in the Indian Ocean, well away from Australia.
