FORMER mechanic and lawyer Gerard Maley has been elected as the new deputy leader of the Country Liberal Party.
Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro revealed the newly elected Member for Nelson had been selected as her deputy following a party meeting this morning.
“Gerard is a former mechanic and lawyer, and brings a wealth of experience to the role,” she said.
“Joshua Burgoyne, the new Member for Braitling, has also been elected as the Opposition Whip.
“I will be consulting with Gerard before allocating the shadow ministries to my team later on this week.
“We all now begin our tireless work as a strong Opposition to hold the Gunner Government to account and continue to connect with people right across the Territory on the issues that matter to them.
