AVALON Airport has stuck its hand up to help regional Victorians fly up to the Northern Territory when its border opens up next Monday.
This is great news considering tight restrictions are currently preventing regional Victorians from driving to the Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne so they can hop on a flight to the NT.

Avalon Airport boss Justin Giddings said it makes sense for Avalon to service those flights given that Tullamarine Airport is under tighter restrictions.
Now it’s just a matter waiting for an airline getting on board with this idea.
Jetstar has already indicated it could be interested in introducing a flight if the demand is there to support it.
This new flight connection could be a real boost for the NT economy, with many regional Victorians itching to get out and travel across state lines for the first time in months.
Any additional tourism in the NT would be warmly welcomed as we enter the traditionally quieter season.
