SITZLER

Steve Margetic and Michael Sitzler

Established in 1976, Sitzler has grown to become one of the leading Northern Australia and national construction companies. Steve Margetic and Michael Sitzler have led the company for the last 20 years, taking the business from the remotest parts of the country to major capital cities. In recent years Sitzler has been a leading contractor for Defence, awarded a $22m contract to upgrade range facilities at four key NT Defence training areas and the Larrakeyah Base Entry Precinct.

Recent projects: Palmerston Police Station, Nightcliff Renal Unit, FuelXpress Palmerston and more interstate.

HALIKOS GROUP

John Halikos & Shane Dignan

Established in 1987, the Territory born and operated company Halikos Group has grown into one of largest construction companies to come out of the NT.

The multifaceted business has developed across seven industries including developments, construction, roofing, hospitality, and real estate.

Recent projects: Nightcliff Police Station, Warren Park Rugby League Stadium and Henbury School.

SUNBUILD

Neil Sunners

Founded by Neil and Desley Sunners in 1994, Sunbuild has become a household name in the Territory.

The ambitious business has more than 265 projects under their belt. The family run business logo can be seen all across the Territory, working towards growing the local Territory economy and infrastructure.

Recent projects: Parap Pool redevelopment, Darwin High School – Steam Centre, RDH multistorey-Storey carpark and Marrara Indoor Netball Stadium.

WTD CONSTRUCTIONS

Peter Fixter

A driven builder and businessman, Peter Fixter established Wtd Constructions more than 23 years ago.

A large majority of Wtd Constructions projects are situated in remote communities, with about 60 per cent of company employees being Indigenous. Mr Fixter is passionate and has one of the most extensive profiles in remote community building projects in the Territory. The company has about 30 employees working to build and expand it.

Recent projects: Refurbishment of the Elliot School, 10 new community houses in lake Evella (Gapuwiyak) providing employment for eight community members and a Covid-19 respite centre on the Tiwi Islands.

JAYTEX CONSTRUCTION

Brett Dixon and Matthew Moss

Established in 1997, Jaytex Construction started as a one man show with Brett Dixon who had big dreams and a vision. More than two decades later, the business has become specialists in medium to large scale commercial construction, with projects ranging from $80m to $500m. The company proudly work with local suppliers and continue to improve and grow the Territory construction industry.

Recent projects: Berrimah Farm Science Precinct, Darwin Turf Club Grandstand and Darwin corporate carpark.

C AND R CONSTRUCTIONS

Caleb Gotts

Founded by Caleb Gotts in 2002, from a small home based office, a team of 30 people make up the Territory born business C and R Constructions.

The business is versatile in their project offerings and aim to use local tradesman and businesses to support the local economy and industry.

Recent projects: Palmerston Fire Station, Leanyer Primary School classrooms and Royal Darwin Hospital Mental health facility upgrades.

KCOM CONTRUCTIONS

Brett McManus and Greg Clarke

Established in 2014 and founded by Brett Mcmanus and Greg Clark, KCOM Constructions was born when the two best mates were having a chinwag over some beers late one afternoon. Mr Mcmanus and Mr Clarke have known each other for more than 20 years and worked together for the five years prior to 2014. The team of nine can offer fit-outs for commercial businesses or build entirely new facilities.

Recent projects: Terry White Chemmart – Gateway Shopping Centre, Arafura Medical Centre and Ray’s cafe outdoor dining area in the Darwin CBD, Humpty Doo medical centre and post office. Finished a classroom at Holy Family Catholic Education.

KILLARNEY HOMES

Michael and Lisa Moriarty

Founded by husband and wife Michael and Lisa Moriarty, Killarney homes have been building lifetime tropical homes in the Territory since 2005. With a small team of six, Killarney Homes builds mostly builds residential housing around the Zucolli area. In 2017, the business won HIA Australian Medium Professional Builder of the Year.

Recent projects: Killarney Homes has recently build residential homes in Zucolli, Giraween and Humpty Doo.
